Casal Bertone is named for the modern Roman neighborhood where it was discovered, about 2 km east of the Porta Maggiore. The site of Casal Bertone covers more than 3,000 square meters. The eastern portion of the site comprised a residential area that was occupied from about the first century B.C. to the fifth to sixth centuries A.D.
